This season, the fashion world did not show signs of letting go of 80s neon clothing (a good thing!) The housewares industry also played a bit of copy-cat and mirrored this trend.

Let’s talk neon people.  Neon is a colour family that sometimes poses serious table integration challenges to the best of us when entertaining.  We already posted a neon idea in a previous post (Neon Living), but here is another great set of tableware that will no doubt brighten up your meal: Lacquered neon wooden tableware.

Nicole Porter is a designer (and writer) based in New York City who produced graphic textiles and modern colourful lacquered wood items that we just love!  I think the plates (below) are my favourite item of Nicole’s and I would use them as chargers underneath a solid coloured plate. The neon and pastel racer stripes add just the right amount of colour but do not entirely detract from the soft wood.
