Vegetable Disposable Tableware
For his Master’s diploma project, ECAL/University of Art and Design student, Qiyun Deng, created an innovative series of disposable tableware that is friendly for vegetarians and carnivores a like. Below is a glimpse at the design process of transforming bioplastic PLA (polylactic acid- a plant based resin) into vegetable cutlery.
The recent graduate, Qiyun, explores how the texture and form of objects found in nature (vegetables in this case) can be used in another way. For example, a lemon is used as a goblet of a glass, celery is used as the handle of a fork and an artichoke petal is used as bowl of a spoon.
