I would be so lucky to have a shop such as Sweet Alchemy, in my neighbourhood.  Sweet Alchemy is sadly not in my neighbourhood, nor in my city, nor in my country.  It is located in Athens, Greece and belongs to the talented, celebrity Greek pastry chef, Stelios Parliaros.  Stelios has written numerous cookbooks, hosts his own TV show and is the editor for a monthly magazine. No doubt a busy man!

I wanted to share Sweet Alchemy with you as it is not often that I discover a shop with kitchen tools, cookbooks, chocolates, candies, and cakes all under one roof- and what a good looking roof it is.

The dimly lit, modern, gallery-ish interior design of Sweet Alchemy is by the Greek firm, Kois Associated Architecture.

Re-interpretation of traditional dessert boutique- CHECK!

Just look at all the fun items you can get here.  This store screams “I am a ‘mature’ kid in a candy store” and happy guests!!

If Sweet Alchemy was in my neighbourhood, I would pay them a visit on the occasions where I do not feel like baking or when I want to beef up my personal stock of chocolates and candies (the nice ones).
